Profes 2015 will be held at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, in Bolzano/Bozen, Italy.
The university is at less than 10 minutes by walking from the Train Station.
Bolzano-Bozen
Bolzano/Bozen is the capital city of the province of South Tyrol, in northern Italy. It is a particular place of Italy because it is one of five mainly Italian-speaking municipalities in the mostly Germanic province of South Tyrol. Since 2010, the city is ranked in the top 2 among 107 Italian cities in the quality-of-life survey by the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore. Read more (Wikipedia).
It hosts several interesting sightseeings such as the the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, which has the mummy of Ötzi the Iceman, the Laubengasse (Via dei Portici), a street in the city centre with medieval carcades along its entire course, now housing high-street shops, and the traditional Christmas Market during December.
Most inhabitants speak both Italian and German. However, there is a limited knowledge of English with the exception of hotels, sightseeings, and the Tourism Office, which we recommend to visit. The conference bag will provide several information regarding Bolzano/Bozen and a travel map.

How to get to Bolzano
By train
One of the best ways to get to Bolzano is by train. The train station is well connected to the countries of Austria and Germany, as well as to the rest of Italy through Verona, Milan, and Venice.
The most common connection to Bolzano from outside of Italy is through Munich, served frequently each day with a direct connection. Please see the Deutsche Bahn website.
By car
Similarly to the trains, Bolzano is well connected to Austria and the rest of Italy via the Italian A22 Freeway.
If coming from the South, we suggest to take the motorway exit “Bolzano Sud” and to park your car at the Fair (1300 lots). From there you find public busses to the centre every 15 minutes or the train every 30 minutes.
If coming from the North, We suggest to take the motorway exit “Bolzano Nord” and to park at the parking “Bolzano Centro”, which is only a few minutes walking from the centre.
Please be aware that parking in Bolzano, with the exception of those at the Freeway exits, can be very expensive. It is forbidden for non-residents to park in the city’s urban parking slots (“white lines” parking spaces).
ATTENTION! Access to the city center is forbidden by car and, since May 2014, it is under video surveillance. Please follow the indication to the parking places and do not overstep the gates in order to avoid a sanction.

By air
The nearest international airports are in Innsbruck (Austria) and Verona (Italy). Those airports, including those in Milan, Venice, and Munich are conveniently connected to Bolzano by train.

Winter attractions
Several Ski resorts are reachable by local transportations in 30 minutes. More than 40 ski resorts are available within one hour drive from Bolzano/Bozen.

In December, the Bolzano hosts the Christkindlmarket, a Christmas market famous in the whole Italy where wines and local products are served.
